GLYCEMIC INDEX
Glycemic index is the system that measure how
quickly blood sugar mean the glucose(carbohydrate) raises after taking a
particular food if the glycemic index is high it mean the food release
glucose more quickly into the blood and raised the blood sugar level; if
it is low it mean food release the sugar in low steady manner hence
keep your blood level of sugar in maintain level that is why low
glycemic index food help to stabilize your diet protect the body from harmful effect of the cardiovascular disease,help to maintain the insulin level hence diabetes.
Food are classified as the low glycemic index,moderate glycemic index and high glycemic index
HIGH GLYCEMIC INDEX FOOD
If glycemic index is 70 and above classified as high.
That food give abruptly glucose to body these include a lot of food i-e the potato's,glucose,maltose,white rice,white bread,bagel....
MEDIUM GLYCEMIC INDEX
If glycemic index is 56 to less than 70 classified as medium glycemic index.
Food in this category give moderate amount of glucose to body i-e potato's but unpeeled boiled,basmati rice.ice cream,cranberry juice,sucrose..
LOW GLYCEMIC INDEX
If glycemic index is 55 or less than classified as low glycemic index.
Food that delivered less quantity of glucose to body or delivered in more time is good for our systems and helps to stabilize the blood glucose level i-e fully ripe banana,beans,intact grain,fructose,sweet fruits and vegetables.....
